Freedom To Dance Ministry

All Freedom To Dance members and families are invited to the following events at Breakthrough and LovePower Church!  Please plan now to join us!!

1.  We will be leading worship by dancing at Breakthrough Ministries during the service on October 26.

Location:  Oliver Christian Ministry Center:  2647 Bloomington Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN

Practice:  5:00pm.  After, you can go to the community dinner to eat and/or talk with people.

Community Dinner Time:  5:00-6:00 pm.  You are encouraged to show up early to help with the dinner portion.  You may serve food and/or talk with those in attendance. For more information, visit:  www.breakthroughmn.org

Church Service:  6:15-8:00 pm.  We will be dancing during the first part of the church service.  If you need to leave early due to getting kids to bed, no problem!

2.  We will be dancing at the Women’s Brunch held at LovePower Church in Minneapolis on November 8. 

Location:  LovePower Church:  1407 Washington Avenue South Minneapolis, MN 55454

Practice:  10:15 am.  Before practice you can come to prayer at 9:30 am and after practice we are invited to have breakfast with them.  We will dance during Jolene’s talk, which starts at 11:15 am.

**Specific songs/dances and what to wear will be posted closer to these dates.

Praise God for his providing everything we needed and for the sunny weather!!

Also, thanks to everyone who came to help at the Fiesta at Breakthrough this past Saturday (10/11)!  The neighborhood kids had a fun time dancing and praising God, plus we got our first takes for the “Gold” music video!

!Vamos a la Fiesta!  Let’s go to the Fiesta at Breakthrough this Saturday, October 11, starting at 1 pm!!

The entire family is invited to come!  They are looking for help in a number of areas, please see the previous post for what help is needed and who to contact.

Please arrive at Breakthrough Ministries (2647 Bloomington Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN) by 1 pm and wear your “Freedom to Dance” t-shirts with black pants.  Between 1 and 3 pm we will be teaching and/or dancing to the following songs:

The Fiesta will go until 6 pm and you are welcome to stay and enjoy the party!

What a blessing to join together last Tuesday and start learning our new dances!   It was fun to laugh and learn how to use billows with the Joy Dancers and to have Kandace teach the Glory Dancers some ballet!

Parking lot construction is still ongoing!!   They plan to lay asphalt late on Tuesday,  so we will need to park on 130th Street and walk down to the entrance.  Thanks so much for your patience and flexibility during this construction!

Two reminders:  You are invited to dance at Breakthrough this Sunday during worship at 6 p.m.!  We will be free dancing and not presenting any choreographed dances this month.  Second, our first roller skating party is Saturday, October 4, at the Roller Gardens in St.  Louis Park at 7 p.m.  Come learn some new moves!

It was great to see everyone last week at the parent meeting!

Hope you all will have your dancing shoes or feet 🙂 on Tuesday (9/23) night!!  We are ready to start praising God together and learn some new dances!

Joy Dancers (P-5th Grade) please arrive by 6 pm and Glory Dancers (6th Grade – Adult) arrive by 7:15 pm.  Also, please remember your water bottles if you’ll get thirsty and to take care of any other needs before your class time.

We do not have have a current update on the parking lot construction project, although we know it is supposed to still be going on.  Please park on 130th Street and walk over to the church, if neither parking lot is available.

Join us Saturday, October 4, for our first roller skating party at Roller Garden in St. Louis Park from 7-10 pm.  The cost is $6 per person and skate rental is free.  Let’s have a time of fun and fellowship together!

Also, Nate “the Skate” Taylor will teach us dance moves to use on roller skates!

We look forward to leading worship through dance on the fourth Sundays of the month during the Breakthrough church services!

You are invited to come free dance during the service on September 28.  We will have prepared specific songs starting October 26.  Church services are at 6:00.  For September 28 please wear black pants and your Freedom to Dance t-shirt.

We have also been invited to dance as part of a Fiesta by Pastor Jose’ of Breakthrough!  The fiesta will be on Saturday, October 11 from 1-6 pm.
