Freedom To Dance Ministry

The roller skating and dance classes at Breakthrough will resume after the holidays!  We will be meeting in the Breakthrough basement on the first and third Sundays of the month from 3-4:30 pm.  Nate “the Skate” will lead the skating instruction and Miss Jolene and Miss Cheryl will lead the dance instruction.  Bring roller skates or dance shoes if you have them!  We look forward to praising the Lord with you in the New Year!

We will dance at Breakthrough on Sun, Dec 21.  If you could help out in any other way, (especially needed:  new gifts, gift bags, some food, and tablecloths) please click on the link below.  Details on the dances are in previous post.    Also, invite friends and family to help!

We will be leading worship by dancing during the service.

Location:  Oliver Christian Ministry Center:  2647 Bloomington Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN

Practice:  5:00pm.  If time, you can go join the community dinner to eat and/or talk with people.  Or have a family member get plates of food for dancer(s).

Community Dinner Time:  5:00-6:00 pm.  Family members are encouraged to show up early to help with the dinner portion.  You may serve food and/or talk with those in attendance. For more information and to volunteer to help, visit:  www.breakthroughmn.org.

Church Service:  6:00-8:00 pm.  We will be dancing during the first part of the church service.  If you need to leave after we dance, no problem!  Please arrive by 5:00pm to practice in the worship area.  We will have time to run through the songs 1-2x.

What to wear: WHITE/WHITE:  Please wear a plain short or long sleeved white shirt. Wear white pants/capris/culottes.  Dance shoes or barefoot is fine.  We’ll provide the Joy Dancers with white wraps and the Glory Dancers with long, white skirts.

Join us Thursday, January 1, for a New Year’s roller skating party at Skateville in Burnsville from 5-8 pm.  The cost is $5 per person and regular skate rental is free or $3 for rollerblades.  Let’s have a time of fun and fellowship together!

Also, Nate “the Skate” Taylor will show us some dance moves to use on roller skates!

Our final practice is this Tuesday, Dec 9, for our Christmas dances!  We are requesting that Joy Dancers stay later (7:15pm) and the Glory Dancers come earlier (7 pm), so we have an opportunity to put all the parts for “O Holy Night” together!
