Freedom To Dance Ministry

Thanks to everyone who has responded regarding availability to minister at the Fallout Arts Initiative Block Party on Saturday, July 28th!  If you have not responded, please take this Freedom to Dance poll (click on the words to go to polling web page) by Wednesday, June 27, and let us know which 2 hour time blocks you are available that day.  Either email or message us if you are not available.  Thanks so much!

DAY/TIME:  Saturday, July 28, Time TBD by F2D poll and Party organizer

LOCATION:  2609 Stevens Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 

2 HOUR TIME BLOCK BREAKDOWN:  We will meet approximately an hour before we are to go on stage.  We will be given a 30 minute time slot (20 minutes for dancing and 10 minutes for transitioning) on stage.  The 2 hours include an additional 30 minutes for transition, photos, and any clean up that needs to happen after we dance.

TBD:  Songs (Praying about “Bleed,” “Forgiveness,” “Light Shine Bright,” and “Gold” are being considered.  If you do not know a song you can either do flags, sit out, or just join in on choruses.); What to wear; and Practice day, time, and place (hopefully the week of July 23)

Freedom to Dance Pool Party and Potluck is still on today (6/9) starting at 2 pm instead!   We’ll be eating inside and swim when no rain.

The entire family is invited to Jim and Willie Love-Winter’s house (6136 Kalen Ct, Woodbury, Minnesota 55129)! Come for fun, dance and fellowship.

Praise King Jesus for gorgeous weather and a great turnout of prayer warriors and dancers for the National Day of Prayer on May 3!  To His name be all the glory!!

It was a blessing to join others in the rotunda at 10 am to pray for all of our legislators.  We were able to send each of them a personalized card letting them know we prayed for them.  Thanks to Dan Adler and the Heart of the City worship band for leading us before the Lord at the start of the 11:30 am program.  Having the generations take turns on the verses for “Revelation Song” fit well with the theme of Unity and bringing everyone together!  It was powerful to have legislators from both parties come out to be prayed for!

Praise God who tears down the dividing wall of hostility that we were also able to proclaim His “Forgiveness” and unity with “Bleed the Same” on the Minnesota State engraving after the official program was done also!!

Thanks to all our dancers and their families who took time out of their day to come to the capitol in order to lift up the name of Jesus, as well as intercede for forgiveness and unity!

Thanks so much for an amazing season. You are such a wonderful dance group and have wonderful families!  We praise God and thank Him for our marvelous year!!

It was fun to fellowship together on May 1 celebrating our 2017-18 season. We had great food, cousins and friends reunited, time to practice for the National Day of prayer and beautiful gifts given and received. Balloons, fan veils, dance scarves, oh my! Thanks also to Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville for  hosting our dance ministry most of the year and to Lighthouse Christian Church in Rosemount for hosting our year end party. May God bless richly each congregation and family that has supported us throughout the year!

May 1 – Year End Party at Lighthouse

Our year end party will be at Lighthouse Christian Church (3285 144th St W, Rosemount, MN 55068) from 6:30-8:30. We’ll be celebrating summer birthdays and will run through our National Day of Prayer songs one last time.  Parents and other family members are invited.  We ask that you bring food to share to this party…  fruit, veggies/dip, rice crispy bars, jello squares, chip/dip…. anything your dancer would love to share with everyone.

May 3  – National Day of Prayer at the Capitol

For National Day of Prayer we will be dancing “Revelation Song” with the Heart of the City Band. For those who can stay beyond the lunch hour, we also will be dancing “Forgiveness” at the far south end of the capitol lawn, where the state of Minnesota is engraved after the main event.  There will be free dancing during both times.

Where:  Minnesota State Capitol (75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Saint Paul, Minnesota) We will be gathering on the front lawn on the west side of the stairs, just below the main entrance of the Capitol across the street.  You can’t miss it.  The band will be setting up there.

Date and Time:  Thursday, May 3, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm

Gather/Prepare: We will meet at 11:00 am to prepare.

What to wear: Please wear patriotic BLUE or RED (solid or if a design, one that can be covered with overlay) short or long sleeved shirts and black or white capris or pants.  Shoes that are easy to dance in or barefoot if you like. (We’ll most likely be on concrete.) Overlays will be provided.
