Freedom To Dance Ministry

  We have been blessed with many opportunities to worship the Lord and minister to His people this Christmas season!  New dates are Monday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 19.  Join us when you can and pray for those ministering when you cannot!!  Our current list of opportunities is:

1. Boot Camp for Jesus

Date and Time:  Dec. 14 (Monday) at 6:15 pm (meeting starts at 7 pm and we will dance near the beginning, after which you may leave)

Location:  Summit Townhomes Party Room, 1500 McAndrews Rd W, Burnsville  (Party room door is by pool; limited space for dancers)

2.  Hosanna!

  Dates and Times: 

• Dec. 15 (Tuesday) – New Friends (5:30) at 4:45 pm & F2D Christmas Party
• Dec. 17 (Thursday) – Women of Wisdom (11:00) at 10:15 am
• Dec. 17 (Thursday) – Dakota Woodlands (5:45) at 5:00 pm
• Dec. 18 (Friday) – Uniquely Gifted (6:30) at 5:45 pm

Location:  Hosanna! Door #1:  9600 163rd Street, Lakeville, MN

3.  Minnesota Veterans Home

Date and Time:  Dec. 19 (Saturday) at 1 pm

Location:  Minnesota Veterans Home Atrium, 5101 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis  (Minnehaha Pkwy entrance closed, take 46th Ave. S from either Godfrey Pkwy or E 46th St.)

4.  Breakthrough Ministries

Location:  Oliver Christian Ministry Center:  2647 Bloomington Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN

Practice:  5:00pm.  If time, you can go join the community dinner to eat and/or talk with people.  Or have a family member get plates of food for themselves and dancer(s).

Community Dinner Time:  5:00-6:00 pm.  Family members are encouraged to show up early to help with the dinner portion.  You may serve food and/or talk with those in attendance. For more information and to volunteer to help, visit:  www.breakthroughmn.org

Church Service:  6:00-8:00 pm.  We will be dancing during the first part of the church service.  If you need to leave after we dance, no problem!  Please arrive by 5:00pm to practice in the worship area.  We will have time to run through the songs 1-2x.

Practice:  Please arrive 45-60 minutes before each party, as indicated.

What to wear:  We plan to have the girls wear all white, so time is needed to get each female dancer outfitted with a white skirt.  Please start looking now for modest, all white tops and pants/capris/culottes (leggings or tights for under 13) for your dancer(s) to wear, if you do not currently have them.  We have a few extras, but not enough for everyone.  🙂  For boys, please wear white top and light colored pants.

Summary:  Dancers please wear WHITE OR BLACK/BLACK (see details) and arrive by 5 p.m. at Breakthrough on Nov. 22 to practice for the 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Sunday service!  Links to songs below: “God’s Not Dead,” “I Am Free,” and “I Am.”

What to wear: BLACK OR WHITE/BLACK:  Square dancers please wear a plain short or long sleeved shirt – #1’s  wear black and #2’s wear white.  Those not in the square dance can wear either color shirt.  Everyone is to wear black pants.  Dance shoes or barefoot is fine.  Square dancers please wear or bring your skirts, overlays will be provided for others.

  Due to a child’s extreme nut allergies, Faith Covenant is now a nut free zone!  Please do not bring any snacks or other food containing nuts to class on Tuesdays.  Thank you for honoring their decision!!

2.  We will be dancing at several Christmas parties at Hosanna! Lutheran Church in Lakeville.  We have been officially invited but are waiting to hear about specific details.  The dates and times are based on what has happened in the past. 

Dancing for the Widows Group on Thursday morning is new this year!  We hope homeschoolers will be able to join us!!

4.  No Classes – Dec. 22 & 29

Location:  Oliver Christian Ministry Center:  2647 Bloomington Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN

It was wonderful to worship with Woodbury United Methodist this past Sunday!  The children enthusiastically waved the banners and joined in with the dances including “Worthy is the Lamb!”  Thanks to Being the Hope Children’s Ministry for taking pictures!!

Summary:  Join us this Sunday, October 18, to minister in dance at Woodbury United Methodist Church at the 10:30am service during a Children’s Sabbath!  Please wear WHITE/BLACK and arrive at 9:30am to practice.

Location: Woodbury United Methodist Church 7465 Steepleview Rd., Woodbury MN 55125

Practice:  9:30am.  They have a service at 9 am, so we will be given a separate room for changing and warming up.

Church Service:  10:30 am.  We will be dancing during the first part of the church service.  We will free dance and encourage their children to dance with us during the three songs their band plays, then will minister one or two choreographed songs.

Join us Sunday, October 18, to minister in dance at Woodbury United Methodist Church (7465 Steepleview Rd Woodbury MN 55125) at their morning services during a Children’s Sabbath!  We will be free dancing while their band plays plus ministering one choreographed dance!  More details to come!!  Please put it on your calendar and let us know if you will be able to join us!

Come join the fun!!  Attend Tuesday evening classes at Faith Covenant Church at 6:30 pm (4 yo-5th) and 7:30 pm (6th-adult)!  Also, Song of Joy Dance is hosting a  worship night on Friday (10/9) at 6:30pm.  See below for invitation.

“Dancers, Visual Artists and anyone interested in worshiping God through the visual arts,

Song of Joy Dance will be hosting a impromptu Visual Arts Worship Nite on Friday, Oct 9th 6:30p – 8:30p at Inverhills Church in Inver Grove Heights.

We will be in the sanctuary of the church.
Each artist will need to bring their own supplies.
