Freedom To Dance Ministry

Summary: We will be dancing at several Christmas parties at Hosanna! Lutheran Church in Lakeville.  Arrive at 10:15 am, 4:45 pm, or 5:45 pm to dress and practice.  Homeschoolers welcomed to join us for the Women of Wisdom in the morning!  

  Date, Times, and Location: 

• Dec. 14 (Thursday) – Women of Wisdom (11:00) at 10:15 am to dance at 11 am
  • Hosanna! Door #3:  9600 163rd Street, Lakeville, (take a left down hallway and go in second door on left)
• Dec. 14 (Thursday) – Dakota Woodlands (5:00) and Uniquely Made (6:00) at 4:45 pm (NOTE: Updated Time) or 5:45 pm in order to dance at 5:45 and 6:30 pm respectively.  Hence, those arriving at 5:45 will need to dress and warm up on their own.
  • Hosanna! Door #1:  9600 163rd Street, Lakeville, (last year we were in room 5,  down hallway to left of door #1 and under the Noah’s Ark on left side).

What to wear:  WHITE/WHITE.  Time is needed to get each dancer outfitted with a skirt (overlay for the younger ones). Please start looking now for modest, all white tops and pants/capris/culottes for your dancer(s) to wear, if you do not currently have them.  We have a few extras, but not enough for everyone.  🙂  Nude/flesh colored dance shoes or going barefoot is fine.

Our final practice is Tuesday, Dec 12, for our Christmas dances!  We are requesting that the Joy Dancers stay later (6:45 pm) and the Glory Dancers come earlier (7:15 pm), so we have an opportunity to put all the parts together!

2.  Freedom to Dance Christmas Party – There are couple of options for our F2D Christmas Party!  Let us know if Thursday evening after dancing at Hosanna! or Tuesday, December 19th will work best for you!

3. Winter Fest: Kids Performing – We will be dancing for seniors on December 16,Saturday, 2-3 times between 2 and 4:30 p.m.  This event is especially for 5-17 year olds, but adults are also included.  🙂  Lunch is included.

Date and Time:  Saturday, December 16 (2 pm) at 1 pm for practice

Location:  South Haven Apartments, 3400 Parklawn Ave. South, Edina, MN 55435

*Parking is in the rear.  Please ring 408 from the lobby phone and you will be buzzed in.  We’ll most likely be meeting on the second floor.

What to Wear:  WHITE/WHITE and WHITE/BLACK  Please wear a plain white shirt and pants/capris/culottes, and bring also black pants/capris.  Nude/flesh colored dance shoes or barefoot is fine.  Skirts, wraps, and overlays will be provided.

 4.  Last practice of 2017 – Tuesday, December 19, will be our last practice for 2017.  We will be putting together TobyMac’s “Lights Shine Bright” for a New Year’s Event on Saturday, Dec. 30.  If you’re able to come that Saturday, please come when you can and leave when you must to learn choreography between 6:30 and 8:45 pm.

5.  New Year’s Eve Celebration – We will dance at a  New Year’s Eve Celebration on Saturday, December 30, at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Eden Prairie.  We will be dancing to several songs.  They have invited us to eat with them.

Date and Time:  Saturday, December 30 (7 p.m.) at 6:15 pm

Location:  Hilton Garden Inn Banquet Room (6330 Point Chase Road, Eden Prairie)

What to wear:  WHITE/BLACK   Please wear a plain short or long sleeved  white shirt and black pants/capris.  Nude colored dance shoes or barefoot is fine.  A wrap will be provided.

6.  Christmas Break – No classes on Tuesday, 12/26/2017 or 1/2/2018!  We will reunite again on January 9!  We hope you have a blessed Christmas!!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to dance at New Life Ministries International’s Anniversary!  It was fun and we believe God was glorified.  You all looked so beautiful and colorful!  We were told we brought great joy and freedom to the atmosphere.  You are a great blessing!!  Great job dancing for Jesus!!

We have the honor of praising God for all that He has done through New Life Ministries International during their 14th Anniversary Celebration!  You are invited to join Freedom to Dance in dancing two songs on Saturday, Nov. 18.  We will be ministering two songs, one during offering (approximately 10 a.m.) and one at the end (approximately 12:30).  If you can only come for one of the songs that is fine.  From past experience we know that the order of events and times are very fluid, following the Holy Spirit’s lead, so above is our best guesses.  We are invited to join in the fellowship and refreshments following the celebration.

DATE:  Saturday, November 18

TIME:   Event is 8:30am – 12:30 pm.  Arrive by 9:30 am for the first song and by 11:30 am for the second song.

Operation Christmas Child

Summary:  Classroom change on 11/14 to Youth Room downstairs because of Operation Christmas Child drop off.  Dancing for anniversary on Sat. 11/18.  Classes being held Thanksgiving week.

1.  Classroom Change: 

On Tuesday, November 14, we will be meeting in the youth room downstairs at Faith Covenant Church because the Legacy Chapel will be a drop off location for Operation Christmas Child.  You are encouraged to bring your own box to drop off!  Here is a link with information on how to pack a shoebox, including gift suggestions and a link to labels.  NOTE the changes this year:  no toothpaste or candy allowed because of custom regulations and remember a $9 donation is requested per box.

2.  New Life Ministries 14th Anniversary:

Join us in helping New Life Ministries celebrate their 14th anniversary on Saturday, November 18!  We will be doing one or two choreographed dances during the program, as well as free dancing during the worship.  Song(s), garments, and time in program are all TBD.

3.  Thanksgiving Week

We will be holding classes on Tuesday, Nov. 21, which is the week of Thanksgiving, so we can work on Christmas dances!  Ms. Cheryl will be traveling to see family, but Ms. Jolene will be there.

Summary:  Faith Covenant will be collecting Operation Christmas Child boxes the week of Nov. 13-20 in the Legacy Chapel.  You’re invited to bring in boxes and drop them off there.  F2D will be meeting downstairs in the large open room that week.

Collection of Operation Christmas Child boxes is right around the corner! You are invited to participate at Faith Covenant Church, if your home church isn’t collecting.  Following is a video about Operation Christmas Child if you are not familiar with it.

Faith Covenant will be a drop off location for the boxes the week of November 13-20.  Bring boxes to the Legacy Chapel.  If needed, Freedom to Dance will store boxes given to us before that date.
