Freedom To Dance Ministry

The end of our 2014-2015 season is fast approaching!  It’s been a fantastic year worshiping the Lord through dance.  And it’s been a blessing to have you as part of the team!

We will be having a party between classes (7 pm) on the last practice night to celebrate our year!!

May 26 – PARTY!  We’ll be celebrating with some snacks and will run through our Breakthrough songs one last time.  Parents and other family members are invited.  We ask that you bring some sort of snack to share to this party…  fruit, veggies/dip, rice crispy bars, jello squares, chip/dip…. anything your dancer would love to share with everyone; however, you won’t need to bring that many.

May 31 – Last Breakthrough night.  See previous post for details.

Summary:  Dancers please wear BLACK/BLACK and arrive by 5 p.m. at Breakthrough on May 31 to practice for the 6:00 p.m. Sunday service!  Links to songs below:  “Overcomer,” “Drops In the Ocean,” and  “Revelation Song/Worthy Is the Lamb.”  Let’s lift Jesus’ name on high!

Location:  Oliver Christian Ministry Center:  2647 Bloomington Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN

Practice:  5:00pm.  If time, you can go join the community dinner to eat and/or talk with people.  Or have a family member get plates of food for themselves and dancer(s).

Community Dinner Time:  5:00-6:00 pm.  Family members are encouraged to show up early to help with the dinner portion.  You may serve food and/or talk with those in attendance. For more information and to volunteer to help, visit:  www.breakthroughmn.org.

Church Service:  6:00-8:00 pm.  We will be dancing during the first part of the church service.  If you need to leave after we dance, no problem!  Please arrive by 5:00pm to practice in the worship area.  We will have time to run through the songs 1-2x.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we  have to cancel the roller skating/dance class today, May 17, at 3 pm.  We apologize for the short notice!!

Friday, May 15:  Filming will take place at 6:30 pm at Terriann’s Picture This studio in Northfield!  Wear colorful and/or sparkly, but modest tops (may have general pics like hearts, but not logos and images like Minnie Mouse) and black pants.  Feel free to use sparkles on hair and/or face if you want!!

Sunday, May 17:  Final roller skating/dance class of the season at Breakthrough at 3 p.m.  Thanks to Nate “the Skate” for helping lead this class this year!!

Tuesday, May 19:  NEW LOCATION!!  The Legacy Chapel.  Enter Faith Covenant from the South side of the upper parking lot. The chapel is a big room a little ways down the hallway on the left hand side.  Change in location is for this practice only!

Tuesday, May 26:  Final practice of the season in our regular location!  We will have an end of season party between the two classes around 7 pm.  Bring some food to share!!

Sunday, May 31:  Final leading of worship at Breakthrough Ministries of the season!  Dancers please wear BLACK/BLACK and arrive by 5 p.m. on May 31 to practice for the 6:00 p.m. Sunday service!  Songs:  “Overcomer” (JOY dancers will do the same motions as the teens in video), “Drops in the Ocean” (GLORY), and possibly “Revelation Song/Worthy Is the Lamb.”

Extra practice and filming for music video of Britt Nicole’s “Gold” this week Tuesday 5/12 and Friday 5/15!

For those interested in learning or practicing the moves to “Gold” we will have a second special class session at Faith Covenant Church this Tuesday, May 12, at 7 pm.

Filming will take place at 6:30 pm at Terriann’s Picture This studio in Northfield on Friday, May 15!  Wear black pants and colorful tops.  Feel free to use sparkles on hair and/or face if you want!!

Come join us this Tuesday, May 5, at 7 p.m. to learn/review moves for Britt Nicole’s “Gold” song for the music video!  Newcomers welcome!!  We will be at Faith Covenant in the youth room.

We will be ministering the song at 9 a.m. on the National Day of Prayer, May 7, at the capitol.    We are also working on finalizing a time for shooting video footage in mid-May.

What to wear: WHITE/BLACK:  Please wear a plain short or long sleeved white shirt. Wear black pants/capris/culottes.  Dance shoes or barefoot is fine.  We’ll provide everyone with some type of overlay.
